More about Broadway

Broadway is a quaint, historic village set in the heart of the Costwolds. It has lots to offer visitors to this much-loved area, with a wealth of beautiful views and breathtaking walks to be enjoyed. Book yourself into a Broadway B&B and you will soon find yourself falling for the charms of the Cotswolds.

Broadway sits at the foot of Fish Hill. Often referred to as the Jewel of the Cotswolds. the town is characterised by Tudor and Georgian buildings and, in fact, used to be an old staging post on the route between Worcester and London. You can just imagine the coaches pulling up and their elegant passengers descending onto the street. The picturesque Broadway high street is lined with chestnut trees and historic buildings and is one of the longest high streets in Britain. Spend a pleasant morning or afternoon browsing and hunting out some hidden treasures in the independent galleries and antique shops of the town. Stop off for a relaxing cream tea at a quaint tea shop, then work off your indulgences with a walk along the Cotswolds Way.

Broadway Tower has a rich and colourful past and is a site that must be visited by anyone staying at a bed and breakfast in Broadway. Enjoy stunning views out over the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Beauty and as far away as the Welsh mountains from the top. Around the tower lays Broadway Country Park, which makes a great family friendly day out. Visit the red deer enclosure, or pack a picnic and head out on a nature walk. There are a number of National Trust properties in the surrounding area which are also worth a visit. Plan a day out to nearby Sudeley Castle, Snowshill Manor or Charlecote Park. The World Heritage Site of grand Blenheim Palace, birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, is also within driving distance. As well as touring the stunning stately rooms, visitors can roam around the beautifully landscaped gardens.

If you're keen to get out and explore the Cotswolds from a traditional English bed and breakfast Broadway is a great base. The Cotswolds have much to offer outdoor enthusiasts, from hiking, cycling and horse riding to golfing, fishing and more. There are some cheap guest houses in the area if your budget is tight or, for a romantic getaway, choose a luxury  Broadway b and b and treat your loved one to a tase of old-fashioned romance.
