Whether it’s to accompany a child’s breakfast, add a sweet treat after dinner or warm hands after a long day outside, your B&B customers will certainly appreciate this kind of service, which shows you’re thinking of them during winter.

The Decadent Hot Chocolate

Cream and real chocolate – pure indulgence.
Ingredients
* 1 cup whole milk
* 1/3 cup heavy cream
* 1/4 cup sugar
* 5oz milk chocolate, chopped
* 1/2 tsp vanilla
Preparation
Simmer the milk, cream and sugar together, but don’t boil. Add the chocolate and stir until melted. Stir in the vanilla. To make it frothy, pour into the blender and give it a whisk before serving.

The Alternative Hot Chocolate

With a South American chili kick!
Ingredients
* 1 2/3 cups milk
* 1/2 tsp vanilla
* 1 red chili pepper
* 1 cinnamon stick
* 1 1/2oz bittersweet chocolate
Preparation
Chop the chili and remove the seeds. Heat the milk, vanilla, cinnamon and chili in a pan. Simmer for a few minutes. Grate the chocolate and whisk into the milk until melted. Let it sit for 10 minutes off the heat then strain the lumps out. Reheat before serving.

The Simple Hot Chocolate

Perfect bold, cocoa flavor.
Ingredients
* 2 1/2 cups hot milk
* 1 tsp vanilla
* 1/4 cup sugar
* 1/8 tsp salt
* 2oz unsweetened chocolate
Preparation
In a blender, mix chocolate, vanilla, sugar and salt with 1/2 cup of milk. Add the rest of the milk when it’s smooth and serve.

The Minty Hot Chocolate

Special Christmas treat!
Ingredients
* 3 1/2 cups milk
* 6 hard peppermints, crushed to a fine powder
* 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
* 2/3 cup whipping cream, chilled
* 8oz white chocolate, chopped
Preparation
Beat the cream with the crushed mints until you form stiff peaks. Put in the fridge for an hour. Heat the milk (but don’t boil) and mix in the chocolate until smooth. Add the mint extract and stir throroughly. Pour into four mugs and top with the whipped cream.

The After Dinnner Hot Chocolate

An extra treat for the adults!
Ingredients
* 1 cup of 1/2 whole milk and 1/2 cream
* 2 cups milk
* 1/2 cup orange juice
* 1/3 cup Grand Marnier
* 6oz bittersweat chocolate, chopped
Preparation
Heat the milk, cream and orange juice to boiling point. In a bowl, combine 2/3 cup of the hot mixture with the chocolate and whip smooth. Add the rest of the milk and whisk again. Reheat then add the Grand Marnier before serving.

    A tip from http://www.carrhousefarm.co.uk. A very quick and easy way to make a delicious mug of hot chocolate. Take full fat milk -jersey milk is ideal . Heat and the drop in one of the large Lindt Lindor chocolate balls and stir .Trust me -it is as simple as that and is certainly moreish.
